Serj Tankian to perform in first-ever Yerevan appearance

Yerevan - Lead singer of System of the Down, will perform solo in Yerevan on August 12.

Serj Tankian's concert was announced by Raffi Niziblian of Deem Communications during June 17 press conference, Arminfo news agency reported. According to the report Niziblian promised a number of "pleasant surprises," including a possible Tankian performing in Armenian.

In his first-ever concert in Yerevan, Tankian will perform songs from his debut solo "Elect the Dead," as well as older favorites, joined by six of his band members and accompanied by musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia.

The concert is jointly organized by Tankian's Fugitive Studios (Los Angeles) and Deem Communications (Yerevan), with support from Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and through exclusive sponsorship of VivaCell- MTS.
