Call the House

Call the House.

House Resolution 106, the Armenian Genocide resolution, is scheduled for consideration by the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday, October 10. The committee is expected to approve the resolution and send it on to the full House of Representatives, which is expected to pass it.

Turkey's well-paid lobby in Washington is making every effort to scuttle the resolution. A likely tactic is to have members of the Foreign Relations Committee offer amendments that would undermine the resolution. For example, they may propose to replace the word genocide with a word that does not carry the connotation of a crime against humanity under international law.

Now is the time for everyone to make a special, extra effort, and reach out to the members of the Foreign Relations Committee. Tell them to pass the resolution "as introduced." Every voice matters. Call, e-mail, or fax today.
